What's Happened To The Sale?
We have renewed the Rumours and Transfers and from now on it will be known as The Reporter.
New changes:
You have the section divided into rumours and pieces of news. You can add photos to the news and rumours. If look carefully, each news that contains an image will have a small icon next to it referring to the image.
Classification of news and rumours:
The classification of news and rumours will be based on two criteria: number of votes and ancestry. The latest and the most voted news and rumours will be displayed on the top. If for example you observe that at the end of one week a news or rumour a lot of votes goes below another article with less votes it will be because it is not so new. In any case you can choose between looking at it in this order, only the latest, the most commented on or only news or rumours.
How do I upload a news?
Inside the section, on the left you will find the "Upload news" botton.
How do I upload a rumour?
Inside this section, on the left you will find the "Upload rumour" botton.
How do I vote for a news or a rumour?
You only have to click on the arrows beside it. The green one means you like it amd the red one (by now it is only available for the users with highest rank) means you don't like it.
What's Happened To The Sale?
PIECE OF NEWSLately we've heard news that Fernando Torres had called for a swift change in ownership at Liverpool in order to get the club back on track. This was brought about by a disappointing deadline day of transfers whereby we could not bring in the quality players that we badly need to shore-up the team.
Torres said, :"It is fundamental new owners arrive that can make us a competitive side, " he added, "We're not far behind. We had an appaling season last time around, but the year before we were just four points from Manchester United."
Torres reiterated, "Hopefully we can find a consortium that buys the club and can make Liverpool able to fight financia;;y with Chelsea and United."
I'm sure, just like Torres, we are all perplexed with what is happening with the sale of our beloved club. Are we being given the run-around again? The silence from the so-called Members of the Board headed by Broughton and Purslow is very deafening indeed!
Liverpool Football Club was officially announced to be put on sale on the 6th of April, 2010. The official LFC announcement read:
Liverpool Football Club (the "Club") announced that Martin Broughton has been appointed as Chairman with immediate effect.
The new Chairman will oversee a formal sale process launched by current owners, Thomas Hicks and George Gillett Jr.
Following numerous expressions of interests from third parties, the Club has engaged Barclays Capital to advise the sale process. The club has the full support of its existing bankers for this process and has financing in place which will fully support the Club's operations.
The LFC announcement further states that Broughton with his team which includes, Christian Purslow as Managing Director, Ian Ayre as Commercial Director and Phillip Nash as Financial Director. The day-to-day running of the club remains in the hand of this team who it seems have overseen a significant improvement in the financial performance of the Club since 2007. During that time:
i. The Club's revenues have increased by 55%
ii. Commercial revenues have increased by 83%; and
iii. Operating profit (before player trading and exceptionals) has increased by 60%
It seems that the club is doing well financially but why has the sale stalled?, Is it stalled?, what stage is the sale at right now? A thousand and one questions are running through our heads but the Board remains silent. Let's hope that we will be hearing good news soon. At the moment Torres has voiced his concern because he cares for the club. let us not wait for the time when patience will run dry and we see a few players leaving the club for more secure pastures!
Torres Voices His hopes for Quick Club Sale.
