The FA's decision not to act on Gerrard has incensed Man U and had led to allegations that the FA has employed double standards. This anger stems mostly from the fact that Rio Ferdinand was banned for three games for swinging an arm into the face of Craig Fagan of Hull in their 4-1 win last January. MU won't make an official comment but privately admitted to being surprised by the verdict and not understanding why Gerrard has been let off. They also said that the decision won't go down well with Liverpool's rivals for the fourth spot.
In reply the FA said that it cannot act because "the referee concerned, Stuart Attwell, has maintained that Gerrard's case did not warrent a booking a booking or a red card."
In Ferdinand's case, the incident was missed by the referee, Steve Bennett, who said he would have shown a red card had he seen it. Attwell, on the other hand, has told the FA that he was satisfied with how he dealt with the incident, by awarding Porstmouth a free-kick and speaking to Gerrard.
The report in the Devil's website went on to berrate Attwell for being the youngest referee, at 27, for his so-called 'mistakes' and blah, blah, blah and blah!
The more I read their reasons the more I like the referee for being decisive in making his stand! Some people are being sour grapes and cannot take the truth! Keep up the good work Staurt Attwell, you'll only get better as you referee more games.... beginning with this weekend's game! lol!
What we think about MU?

johnwilso86 Ferdinands was blatant, if we look at Stevies movement Brown was not looking to get to the ball first. He is clearly seen looking over his shoulder to were to Stevie was and blatanly goes across him and uses his elbow first.all what Stevie tried to do, was get past him but couldnt because he was being obstucted.
