Torres smashes reds record (#1403) on 30-12-2009 at 10:08:28
Fernando Torres' winning goal in Tuesday night's clash with Aston Villa saw him become the fastest Liverpool player ever to hit 50 league goals.

The Spanish marksman achieved the half century in just 72 appearances, a strike-rate that leaves him well clear of Sam Raybould and Albert Stubbins, both of whom reached the landmark after 80 matches.
CONGRATULATIONS, FERNANDO!!

I remember telling my English brother in Liverpool some season back that I hoped we would get somebody like Torres to spearhead our attack... this was some two seasons before Torres became a Liverpool player! I was really pleased when he came and even more pleased to watch him perform on the pitch! We must bloody (mind the expression!) well make sure that we keep him from other envious teams! For the time being I just cannot imagine a Liverpool team without Torres playing!

Obviously Spanish Armada is more of a Spanish Liga fan! Nothing wrong in that... I follow Real Madrid myself in the Spanish League!
