After many days of glum news about Liverpool finally we have good news coming our way... and about time too!

It is reported that Fernando Torres is still poised for an emotional return to Atletico Madrid! The specialist treating El Nino, Dr. Ramon Cugat, ruled that Torres could be back in action next week.

Dr. Cugat also supervised Torres' recovery from hamstring problems earlier in the season. Dr. Cugat believes Torres should be available for the first-leg clash at Madrid.

Dr. Cugat said, "The problem is not serious but he needs to stop and rest to avoid more risk because it's the sma knee on which he had surgery in January. But in normal circumstances, he could be ready to play next week depending on how it settles down. The decision is now up to Liverpool's medical staff."

Torres could even feature in Liverpool's next game at home to west Ham but Rafael Benitez may instead choose not to risk Torres ahead of his return to the Vincente Calderon. Torres missed both Champions League game against Atletico last season through injury!

One player who is hopeful of coming into consideration for the trip to Madrid is Martin Skrtel. The Slovak international who has been absent since suffering a broken matatarsel during the Europa League win over Unirea Urziceni in February.

It was initially feared that he could miss the rest of the season, but Skrtel's protective boot was removed last week  and he has now resumed light training.

Finally something to smile about. :-D
