Swansea City’s new signing Danny Graham has revealed his delight at moving to the Premier League club and has admitted that, whilst he will be under pressure to deliver in the top flight, he will not be subject to the same kind of scrutiny as Andy Carroll at Liverpool.

The striker recently finalised his £3.5 million move from Watford, a far cry from Carroll's £35m transfer, but nonetheless Graham can’t wait for the season to start.

"I'm delighted to have got everything sorted," he told the club's official website.

"I had been away on holiday so couldn't do it any sooner. Now I just can't wait to get started.

"I know Brendan [Rodgers] has been an admirer of me for some time, which is flattering, and he had a bid rejected for me at the start of the season.

"He came to Carlisle to sign me when he was manager at Watford. But by the time I had arrived at Vicarage Road he had taken over at Reading.

"But it's a new chapter for me now at Swansea and I'm looking forward to it and having a good season in the Premier League.”

The 25-year-old bagged 24 league goals last season at Watford to secure a move and become Swansea’s record signing and whilst he will be under pressure to perform at the Liberty Stadium, he insists he can handle the expectations.

“There's pressure, there always is when it's a big amount like that. But there's not as much pressure on me as Andy Carroll and £35m!” he added.

"My job is to score goals and play well for the team - and that's what I'm looking to do. I want to score goals and I'm sure I will."

The former Watford man is also convinced the Welsh side can succeed in the Premier League and promised an attacking approach, which he claimed was another reason that attracted him to the club.

"It's going to be a difficult task because there are no easy games in the Premier League,” he said.

“But the squad at Swansea is very strong and the way they play is suited to the Premier League. Hopefully I can come in and add to that.

"The way Swansea play is how football should be played and was a massive factor, together with my chat with Brendan, to me coming here."
