I just vividly remember that night when I was watching the game all alone when everyone else was sleeping in the early hours of the morning. I was obviously excited but after a disastrous first half we were trailing 3-0! I just could not believe the halftime scoreline. I contemplated going to bed but NO! My heart still felt that by some stroke of brilliance we could make it.
When the second half started as if by magic the Liverpool side was rejuvenated! 1-3, 2-3 and finally 3-3! I was shouting my head off in silence afraid to wake up anybody. My body was shaking with excitement and when it came to the penalties when the last AC Milan attempt was saved by Dudek, I stood up clapping with tears rolling down my cheeks! Then I really felt that I was not walking all alone cheering the Champions of European Football!

Dirk has been a ray of sunshine in the Liverpool team! If ever there was a need for a live wire to add more punch in the team, Dirk was always there to fill in the job! Not only has he fitted into the team, he has also fitted into the Liverpool mainstream life. He admitted that his children spoke perfect scouse! I can still remember how Dirk was very proud that his father managed to see him play at Anfield before he succumbed to cancer! You are a great asset to the team Dirk and I am very proud of you! YNWA!

If you want to count my first Idol when I was very young, I would like to think not so long ago, Kenny Dalgleish was always at the tip of my tongue. That was during the Golden Years of Liverpool football when Liverpool played a game much like Brazil played in the World Cup! His passing was as immaculate as his dribbling and the goals he scored were truly memorable! Yes, he was my first real Liverpool idol!
