Dirk has been a ray of sunshine in the Liverpool team! If ever there was a need for a live wire to add more punch in the team, Dirk was always there to fill in the job! Not only has he fitted into the team, he has also fitted into the Liverpool mainstream life. He admitted that his children spoke perfect scouse! I can still remember how Dirk was very proud that his father managed to see him play at Anfield before he succumbed to cancer! You are a great asset to the team Dirk and I am very proud of you! I really appreciate his work rate and his willingness to play in any position on the field... I think he would be willing to take over Pepe's place if asked to... such is his professional nature!

If you want to count my first Idol when I was very young, I would like to think not so long ago, Kenny Dalgleish was always at the tip of my tongue. That was during the Golden Years of Liverpool football when Liverpool played a game much like Brazil played in the World Cup! His passing was as immaculate as his dribbling and the goals he scored were truly memorable! Yes, he was my first real Liverpool idol!

I just realised that I don't have Stevie listed as one of my idols... this is unforgivable because Stevie epitomizes what Liverpool is! His passion and genuine love is on par with Carragher because both are Liverpool born and bred! The old Liverpool way is in-grained within Stevie's soul because he has been playing among the greats and it is no wonder now that many Liverpool fans and myself alike regard him as a Living Legend! Who can ever forget the moments when Stevie would galvanise the whole team and lead them to victory leading by example each time we were staring at the gates of defeat! The Magical Night in Istanbul was and still is a source of inspiration for many Liverpool fans. Stevie G you are great and will always be a great Liverpool player! YNWA!

El Pistorelo has many qualities of a great player. For someone to come over from South America to go to Holland, learn the language and become the captain of the football team he was playing in at a relatively very young age speaks volumes on what kind of a character he actually is as a player! We are lucky to have him because he is still developing as a player since he is still very young! I feel very excited thinking of the possibilities that he will become in a few years time!
