BackMartin Skrtel is desperate to add some more silverware to Liverpool Football Club’s honours list.
The 25-year-old defender has signed a new deal which will keep him at Anfield until the summer of 2014, after impressing since arriving from Zenit St Petersburg two years ago.
The Reds suffered a disappointing season last time round, but the Slovakian international is sure they can end a trophy drought which dates back to the 2006 FA Cup final success.
"I'm very pleased," Skrtel told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I have been here for nearly three years and I really like it here. I like the city, I like the club and I like the fans so I'm happy.
"Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world so I am proud I can play here for four more years. I'm happy to try and carry on giving good performances and doing my best for the club.
"We have quality in the dressing room and I know we will do better this year. A club like Liverpool deserves to win trophies and I will help them do that, hopefully this season.”
