I would like to present this game, and as Liverpool and Atletico are friends, I would like to know if you could help :)

WHAT IS PLAY FOR YOUR CLUB?

Play For Your Club is an online web-based game where you can play, score goals and help Atlético de Madrid win!

You are in competition with other teams of supporters Spanish-wide and Europe-wide. Play for the Atlético de Madrid team and join supporters playing for our club! As several team members have said, this is as close as most of us will ever get to playing for Atlético de Madrid.

The Spanish League championship starts every Monday at 10am and ends on Wednesday at 8pm.

The European Cup (qualification with a top 6 finish in the Spanish league) starts with Rd 1 every Thursday at 10am and moves to multiple 2-hour rounds on Friday. Rd 2 starts at 10am Friday.

PLAYING TIPS

New Players

Spanish League

The ball always comes from the left.

Start with the player in the centre of the screen. Move the player to where the ball will drop in front of him, and kick the ball when it falls in front of his right foot. The ball should be kicked when it is just far enough off the ground that it moves toward the roof of the net (roughly knee height - see picture). After each shot return to the middle of the screen to be prepared for the next ball.

Hit the ball on the volley. If you let it bounce, points are halved and it is no easier to score.

Always press "Submit" at the end of each game, within the time allowed, or your score will not count. Also make sure the security code is correct, or again your score will not count.

Top tip
Concentrate on getting the height right, so the ball is heading towards the roof of the net, most of the time. This is the fastest way to increase your score.

Penalties
In the Spanish League, gamble 5,000 or 10,000, 20,000 or 40,000 points.

• stop the pointer on the "O" (picture ABOVE), or just to the right of the "O" (picture BELOW), in "DIRECTION"
• hold the button down for about half a second (no more - the longer you hold the button down, the higher the shot will go)
• if you get both direction and power right, the ball should fly into the top right corner of the net, out of the goalkeeper's reach

Penalties take practice to get right. You can practice on the related Role-playing game "Jumpers for Goalposts" http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/jumpersforgoalposts/play.php. Once you start scoring more than 50% of your penalties consistently (will not take long, with practice), start gambling your points. Experienced players score 90-95% of all penalties.

It can help to practice holding the button down before you actually take a penalty, just to make sure your timing is on.

You can also aim to stop the pointer on the first "I" in "DIRECTION". With everything else the same, the ball should then fly into the top left corner.

Europe
The ball comes from both the left and the right. The defenders will look in the direction the ball is coming from before it appears.

• ball comes from the left ? same as the Spanish League
• ball comes from the right - keep the player to the left of the ball, and kick so it comes off the end of his toe, as the ball falls (just above the ground)
• penalties ? same as the Spanish League, but the bonuses start at 30,000

Experienced Players

The defenders move slowly towards the centre of the goal / screen as the game progresses. This is an advantage, as most shots that hit defenders partially in front of the goal will deflect into the net. So concentrate on keeping your shots down and on target.

For penalties, if you accidentally press the button down for too long (so the ball will be going over the bar), keep pressing the button down, move the mouse arrow off the "shot" button and let go. Nothing will happen. You can then 'start again' with the power, and hopefully get it right second time. Doesn't work with the direction, unfortunately.

The best application for changing the power on penalties is when you accidentally stop the pointer in the wrong spot. If you stop it on the second "I" (too early) the keeper will almost always save a shot toward the roof of the net. So instead, keep pressing down and move the mouse arrow off. Then, just tap the shot button quickly ? the penalty will be a daisy-cutter and will go under the keeper's jump, scoring 9 times out of 10.

Top tip
Same as for the beginners ? get the height right! If you watch the videos of the 400k+ games by top Euro players http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD2npNv71l4 you won't see a SINGLE shot over the bar. And a 400k+ game requires over a hundred shots.

FAQs

Mouse or Keyboard?
With the Euro game the mouse is the only option, so it is probably best to get used to the mouse for the Spanish game also. But whatever you are most comfortable with is the best option.

What happens if you press 'Play again' before you press 'Submit'?
You will lose your points just scored. ALWAYS PRESS SUBMIT!

Why can you play when the game is closed?
You can still play the game in "off" times, but the points will not count.

How do I know how many points I have scored?

What are the "Shouts"?
At the end of each game you can type in a brief 'shout' before you press submit. Your shout will be shown on the shouts page:

This acts as a makeshift message board, so you can talk to others playing at the same time. Please consider a certain "netiquette" while shouting. No negative comments towards other teams please.

What is a good score?
This completely depends on how much practice you have had. At first, any submitted score is good!

After a while in the Classic game, you will occasionally get to the bonus levels (40,000 points and 60,000 points in the Spanish League), where you can take a penalty for extra points. Experienced players will reach the Classic bonus levels with most games. Our best players have topped 200,000 points in a single Classic game, but this is very unusual.

How long does it take to reach a good total?
Again, this depends on practice. At the beginning, it will probably take you something over an hour to score a million points. With practice, you can get that down to under an hour. Experienced players can score two million points or more per hour. Total scoring rates are roughly the same in all versions of the game.

My Operating System has been updated and now the game is running too fast. What can I do?
The problem with the game speeding up after a system update is browser-related:  later versions of Internet Explorer (IE) may run the game faster than earlier versions, or may run the game faster on a new operating system with the same version of IE.  Two types of possible solution:

No installation required, you just have to download it, extract the rar file, and open the file pfyc.exe.

NEW SEASON: If this is the first time you open in this league or euro, giving "new season" (new league). If during that league or euro had already opened the program but then close it, next time you open it, uncheck that box, otherwise you lose the stored graphic so far of the parties.



REFRESH: For the results are updated automatically, select REFRESH (Refresh) always has to be selected (subject to exceptions for certain off-season visits).

You must let within 10 minutes after you open it STATISTICS FOR FIRST PICK OF INDIVIDUAL SCORES AND CURRENT PLAYERS EACH TEAM. THE REST YOU CAN SEE FROM THE you start it up.
