BackLiverpool defender Fabio Aurelio believes that Roy Hodgson's men must set themselves a minimum target of a top four finish this season.
The Brazilian rejoined the the club after being released at the end of last season, and is feeling positive about the new campaign under the management of Roy Hodgson. The left-back is looking for professional focus from the team for every game this season.
"It is difficult to put a target on it (what the team can achieve this season) but Liverpool is a team that should be in the Champions League, so first of all I think the top four is the main thing we should aim for," Aurelio told the club's official website.
"I'm not saying that we won't fight for the championship but Liverpool has to be in the top four so if we can make sure we are there to start with, it will be easier to fight for the title.
"Starting from the first game against Arsenal, we have to keep adding points to the count and then we can see where we are in February and March and what we can fight for.
"Every game is important and every game has the same value of three points so we have to face them all in the same way."
