Now that the dust of the more or less disappointing semi-final with Atletico has settled down, a win over Chelsea seems like the right tonic to prop up the club and the fans! We must not let disappointment to weigh us down! We must always look forward so that we will come back stronger. Forget about how the Chelsea game will affect the position of the Premier league leaders! We play to win every game because that is our way! YNWA!

It's somewhat unusual that title-chasing Chelsea have had to wait until the last two weeks of the season for their first trip to Anfield.

The two clubs have had a magnetic pull towards each other in recent seasons with 25 meetings in various competitions since October 2004.

During that time each club has recorded controversial victories: Chelsea in the 2005 League Cup final and Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final in 2007. Both have helped create a fixture that's charged with passion and full of intrigue.

This game has long since been earmarked as a must-win for Chelsea and a match that will test both their title-winning mentality and mettle.

Liverpool fans know that their slim hopes of finishing fourth will evaporate unless they beat the Blues, although in doing so they will hand their great rivals Manchester United a chance of claiming an unprecedented 19th English league crown.

Liverpool
Doubtful: Ngog (back)
Injured: Aurelio & Insua (both thigh), Kelly & Torres (both knee), Skrtel (ankle)

Chelsea
Doubtful: Carvalho (ankle)
Injured: Bosingwa & Essien (both knee), Mikel (ankle)

It is season we would not want to remember. Playing Chelsea with a makeshift team team with our boys showing signs of tiredness from the effect of the Semi-final had on them I wasn't expecting much from the game. Looking at the look of dejection on the players face on and off the pitch was very heartbreaking. This is not the Liverpool that we know, this is not the Liverpool that we love! I just hope that common sense will prevail and that our players will some together and show that we are all united to make the club great again! Players must show their commitment and stay on, the fans must also their support to the team and the manager especially in the last game, even though it is an away game! This is not the first time we have gone through a bad season. This is not the first time we are not in the Champions League. But, we have always come back mush stronger in the next season. I am a Liverpool fan, I will stay a Liverpool fan forever! Nothing will change my love for the team! Through thick and thin we must stay through to the motto of "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!"

Todays game sums up this season. Tired players with no back up.
For sure, we can only improve.I can never remember a season quite so bad.
PLEASE can we have some funding so that this team can fight on.
As a lifelong fan it is distressing to see such poor performances by such a great team and no impact players on the bench to bring on.
EVERY Liverpool fan stands by our team and we can all see the disappointment in our players.
PLEASE settle our boardroom problems, find us a new buyer, and let our players and management get on with their jobs, without the worry of what will happen next. Bring some certainty to our club. Move us forward.
And to the PLAYERS.
You have done us proud, struggled on with the uncertainty and always given your best, through what has been a disappointing season for us all.
PLEASE know, the fans truly mean it, every time we sing our hearts out with 'You'll never walk alone' we truly appreciate the work you have put in for our team.
And to Rafa.
The club owes you very much, you have put your heart and soul into the job, the fans see this and appreciate all your efforts.
THANK YOU, it's been a dreadful season by our own very high standards, read the banner : 'In RAFA we trust'
And to every fan who has gone to the match and cheered for our team - please know our support is invaluable - every time we cheer or sing- it's our support and backing our team needs. You have done us proud, at home and away - neverending support for the team we all love.
I am proud to stand amongst you.

Having seen the players and their families walkabout around the stadium after the game (shown by Liverpoolfctv.,greatly appreciated) I was really emotional and cried as I'm sure many at Anfield did. This is the Liverpool that I have supported and will continue to support till eternity! Though this season may be drawing to an end, as John says, lets keep up the chatter and talk about the World Cup and any other Liverpool news that might pop out once a while! Love all of you. You'll Never Walk Alone! and in the words of the late Sir Winston Churchill, Liverpool will "Never, never, ever give up!"
