Aquilani updates (#3890) on 19-05-2011 at 00:09:02

"Aquilani is a Liverpool player and will possibly return to England, but it is clear that, if there was the opportunity to stay in Italy he'd stay here."

boring stuff, juve arent gonna pay much because he didnt really hit there.. that's why! given all the money they spent on awful signings (melo, diego.. those two were apparently worth 25 million euros each!) if they want the lad for less than 10 then it means he's not really worth much. had he played fantastic they would be struggling to keep him

of course he can come back and play for us, but don't expect to be a regular starter, mate.. not being a reliable player at 27 speaks for itself, innit?

Kenny Dalglish has opened the door for Alberto Aquilani to return to the Liverpool squad next season by declaring that the midfielder would be welcomed back to the club.

Liverpool flop Alberto Aquilani is ready to join AC Milan if Juventus decide not to buy him.

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is still hoping that he can remain in Italy next season, but it is doubtful that he will be returning to Juventus and is now very likely to be returning to Anfield next season.

There were rumours that AC Milan were interested in his services if Juventus turned him down, but that is simply speculation according to Aquilani?s agent, Franco Zavaglia.

?I can say that I am not aware of any interest from AC Milan,? he said. ?They are just rumours and we have had no contact with Milan.

?Juve have asked us for a few days to reflect and in the meantime, we are looking at the options in Italy and abroad.

?I don?t think the problem has to do with the buy-out clause but rather that they (Juventus) are looking for someone whose characteristics are more defensive.

?We will see what happens.

?Whatever happens, Alberto is not left in the middle of the road as he still has three years left of his contract with Liverpool.?

ok so it looks like he's doing the pre season with us. I want to say a few things so here's my points:

- I still rate the player highly if we judge his skills
- I still question myself if he can be 100% fit through a whole campaign
- I consider the guy to have been unlucky during his first Liverpool spell: we were in need of a new Xabi and he was brought in while injured. time wasn't on his side, but Rafa should have known it
- he was good when he played, not a phenomenon but he showed enough of his abilities. I remember a few assists, like I said he knows how to treat the ball

now one thing I need to state:

I don't want another summer soap: if he wants to stay in italy, fair enough (is it true he's having a baby or his fiancee just had one? I'll understand his wishes even more) just hand in a transfer request. if he can't get an italian club and he is convinced to stay, then I won't go against it. Kenny seems to appreciate him and if he can work his mind on his position in the field I'm sure we can have a new Lucas - a duck (almost) turning into a swan. only thing I ask, but I'm sure we all agree, is to fight for this club, so he must be 110% committed. whether he sits on the bench or starts a match, he must have a fighting spirit. that's all I want. his feet are good, personality must follow.

what's your thoughts on the issue guys?

Let King Kenny have the last say...though personally I would prefer him satying!

i'm just worried with him on his way and possibly Lucas (who i slated more than once) also rumoured out the door, we are replacing champagne with cider. Im just not impressed with what we have brought in and kept from last year. I dont think we have improved. (Suarez apart)
